Wrotham, Kent

Counselling for Wrotham

Close enough that the journey is never the reason you did not go.

Getting here from Wrotham

Wrotham and Borough Green sit either side of the M26, and the drive between the two villages takes about five minutes down the A227 or the Wrotham Road. It is a distance most people would walk on a decent evening.

Confusingly, the station serving both is called Borough Green & Wrotham and is in Borough Green — so if you use it to commute, you already pass within a few minutes' walk of the room.

Free parking on site, private entrance, no shared waiting area.

Who I see from Wrotham

Wrotham is a small village of a few thousand people with a long history and, in common with most of this part of Kent, a substantial commuter population. The work that comes from here follows that: evening drinking that has escalated, anxiety in people holding down demanding jobs, and the burnout that arrives when the commute and the workload have been unsustainable for two years and nothing has given.

I also see people from Wrotham Heath, Platt and the smaller settlements along the A20 and the ridge.

Five minutes matters. It sounds trivial, and it is not. The single most reliable predictor of whether someone keeps coming to therapy is how easy it is to get there on a bad week. A twenty-minute drive to Sevenoaks when you are already tired and half-looking for a reason not to go is a real obstacle. Five minutes is not.

What I work with

The approach is Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, supported by CBT where a specific belief or behavioural loop needs breaking.
