Counselling for Hildenborough

Fifteen minutes north, and worth it if what you need is not general counselling.

Getting here from Hildenborough

Hildenborough is about fifteen minutes north of Borough Green up the A227 through Shipbourne, or slightly longer via Tonbridge depending on traffic. Free parking on site.

Who I see from Hildenborough

Hildenborough is a village between Tonbridge and Sevenoaks with good rail links to London and a largely commuter population. Most people here look to Tonbridge or Sevenoaks for therapy, both of which are closer and both of which have plenty of general counselling.

The people who make the drive north tend to be looking for something specific — addiction work, or ACT rather than standard CBT, or a therapist who has not already been recommended to half their social circle.

The drive through Shipbourne

A small practical point that turns out to matter. The A227 north from Hildenborough runs through Shipbourne and over the greensand ridge, and it is a genuinely pleasant fifteen minutes rather than a slog on a dual carriageway.

People consistently report that the drive home afterwards is part of what makes the session work — twenty minutes to think, before walking back into the house. It is not the reason to choose a therapist, but it is not nothing either.

What I work with

The approach is Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, supported by CBT where a specific belief or behavioural loop needs breaking.

Common questions

Is it worth coming when Tonbridge is closer?

For general counselling, probably not — Tonbridge has plenty. For addiction work or ACT specifically, the specialist provision is thinner and the drive is short.

Do you offer online sessions?

Yes, across Kent and the UK, and many people mix the two.
